Implementation Plan Design

Here in the given assessment, I will implement the plan for the intervention that I have formulated in the previous assessment. My implementation plan will also attempt to integrate best practices with an appreciation of the realities of the target population for intervention. On the other hand, my focus during the assessment would be to theoretically enact my intervention plan on the selected population.

Part 1: Management and Leadership

Proposed Strategies 

The following are the different approaches used in interpersonal collaboration two of the approaches that I will be using in the implementation plan include transformational and democratic approaches. Transformational leadership practices involve developing a vision for the organization and ensuring that employees embrace it (Brown, 2022). When working under transformational strategies, the team always rises personally and professionally to the level that is required to achieve the mission and vision of the company. The teams working under a transformational leader are coherent for one goal and are prepared to put in all their drive, time, and energy for the organization.

The democratic strategies include all the members of the organization in the decision-making process. While such leaders remain in charge of decision-making, they do it in a way that could make other people feel they have a stake in a particular decision (Morrison et al., 2021). To ensure interprofessional collaboration, every staff can be considered as a stakeholder. This strategy will ensure that the targeted nurses can speak to the manager about the side effects of burnout and recommend actions that can be taken by the hospital.

The management strategies that I would emphasize for interprofessional collaboration include the healthcare facility’s goals and mission, training of the targeted nurses, and embracing of democracy. By so doing, it will make the targeted nurses appreciate the organization’s overall mission and goal during their daily activities (Njah et al., 2021). The targeted nurses will be trained to understand their needs and the areas they need to overcome. It will assist them in achieving new skills that will add value to the healthcare organization. Lastly, the democratic value will ensure that commitment and consensus are developed among the targeted nurses during decision-making.

The professional nursing practices that I shall use to enhance its effectiveness in implementing my intervention plan include: compassion, trust, integrity, and accountability (Zhang et al., 2022). The act of compassion will enable me to treat the targeted nurses as my own family. Honesty is an important component in establishing credibility with my targeted nurses.

Conflicting Data and Perspectives

Studies conducted after covid crisis have revealed that burnout is a genuine issue and requires much attention to be addressed (Ge et al., 2022) . However, there is an increase in the cases of burnouts and the hospital administrators have not paid much attention to this issue.

Implications of Change Associated with Proposed Strategies

Strategies for Improving the Quality of Care

The leadership strategies that I have used are transformational and democratic. The intervention plan is to establish a benchmark for the nurse-to-patient ratio to avoid nurses’ burnout within the targeted nurses. The term patient experience can be defined as the multiple interactions that a patient can have with the entire healthcare system including with the health plans and the nurses in the hospitals (Green et al., 2020). The proposed change management initiatives include motivational training for the nurses in addition to collaborative ones to ensure that the quality of treatment is enhanced.

Enthusiasm and motivation in caring for patients through Nurses’ appreciation-centered events as well as Positive Organizational Centredness promoting professional development of nurses’ identity can benefit the nurses by reducing their depression, and burnout, and enhancing their well-being (Coelho, 2020). Thus, it will assist patients in getting timely appointments, easy access to information, and good communication with healthcare providers enhancing the experience of the patients and their families. Democratic leading strategies will treat every patient equally without discrimination and help in decreasing the readmission rate. Consequently, there will be reduced nurse burnout and the expenses incurred by patients. The availability of insurance and other instruments assists the patient with funds and reduces the likelihood of no care due to financial issues.

The other unavoidable nursing practices that will influence the quality of care include compassion, trustworthiness, humility, and accountability of professional nurses (Campbell et al., 2020). Patients’ compliance with their treatment enhances the efficiency of the nurses who will be caring for them because it encourages everyone to follow the prescribed procedures. Being compassionate towards patients and their families makes one happy, enhances the quality of healthcare, and emanates from the decreased level of burnout among the nurses. It is always crucial for a patient to trust their healthcare provider. When patients have confidence in their physicians, the bond between the two becomes deeper (Campbell et al., 2020). The patient is confident and prepared to come out and report any signs showing that he or she is unwell, which helps in diagnosis and care in the future. Holding the patient responsible for their care can help to significantly reduce the costs is plausible. If a patient ensures preventive measures and accepts responsibility for his actions regarding his diet and exercise, it becomes possible to reduce the costs of care.

Knowledge Gaps, and Areas of Uncertainty

Care experience and the quality of care are defined by numerous factors and can be enhanced through interdisciplinary approaches (Eglseer et al., 2021). However, uncertainty is mostly attributable to research studies, which suggest that limitations in empirical evidence and a lack of cross-disciplinary integration are prevalent.

Part 2: Delivery and Technology

Appropriate Delivery Methods

The intervention strategy entails ensuring that the nurse-to-patient ratio is made smaller. The implementation strategy is to decrease the ratio of nurses to patients in long-term care institutions to 1:3. And, the ratio of the urgent care departments to be less than 1:2. Healthcare settings where patients need much care in the right proportion to the number of nurses concerning the patients will derive the optimum benefits of the ratio (Alshahrani et al., 2021). The intervention can be delivered by ensuring the interpersonal relationship between nurses and the administrative staff. Stakeholders and administration would be informed about the intervention plan. 

The delivery of the intervention will be coordinated by the administration of the hospital: Multiple nurse managers will also be hired for the execution of the plan (Alshahrani et al., 2021). This delivery method can best be made appropriate by involving the teams of nurses, stakeholders, administrators, and patients. It will also impact the quality of the project. That way involving experts in the plan will be efficient and it will also enhance the knowledge gaps since experts share knowledge among themselves.

Technological Options

Due to the implementation plan, it can be made to look efficient also with the inclusion of technological advancement in the delivery method. Creating site maps that are operational hubs where employees can quickly determine whether patient counts, staffing, and patient management are synchronized (Pyo et al., 2023). In real-time, dashboards have beds, emergency department, nurse, and equipment availability and status. Thus, the integration of previously separated functions allows employees to make valuable decisions that affect both organizational processes and clinical outcomes. All the identified nurses will be given their tasks on the system, and all the communication and guidelines will be administered through this system. All the targeted nurses will have a portal that will guide each of them on set activities for the year.

The technology that will enhance the delivery method is AI technology which is considered as the emergent technology (Pyo et al., 2023). AI can be defined as systems or computers that work based on human intelligence and can adapt or enhance themselves based on their acquired knowledge. First of all, one has to understand that AI comes in many shapes and forms. For instance, chatbots can solve customer issues, intelligent assistants can enhance communications, and recommendation engines can suggest the right solution for difficulties. The main potential for improving the delivery methods can be obtained from intelligent assistants, they can assist us in scheduling tasks using AI using important data from massive free text collections.

Part 3: Stakeholders, Policy, and Regulation

Stakeholders Impact

The following are some of the stakeholders: Managers, fiscal officers, people within the community, patients, and other employees in the hospital. Meantime, stakeholders have to communicate with coworkers and patients; be accessible to personnel; be involved in judgment; develop and preserve their skills; to find the balance between work and personal life (Haahr et al., 2020). The enhancement of the needs of the stakeholders will enhance the quality of the intervention plan. Patients are our main stakeholders they can affect the intervention both positively and negatively One of the negative impacts of the intervention plan is that many patients will be presenting themselves in hospitals meaning a high nurse-to-patient ratio. The best way to tackle the high readmission rates is through patient tracking to bring down the number of patients admitted into units. Nurses could also influence the intervention plan by ensuring that they follow the correct implementation guideline as proposed and adapt to it.

Policy, and Regulations Impact

The applicable healthcare regulation about the intervention plan is ACA (Affordable Care Act). ACA is a policy that helps with nurse burnout at high levels (Kimani et al., 2023). Affordable Care Act has dealt with it by establishing an outpatient care unit where people with severe health complications will be treated. Therefore, the outside treatment of patients will reduce the number of nurses to patients ratio.

The Nurse Staffing Standards also align with my implementation plan (Myers, 2020). The nurse-to-patient staffing ratio in hospitals and healthcare facilities is also recommended as a long-term action to be taken. The bill proposes a staff-patient ratio of 1:4 for a medical unit, 1:3 for the emergency unit, and 1:1 for the critical care unit.

Part 4: Timeline

This plan is going to take me one year to make it work. In this timeframe, I will explore the effects of burnout for the targeted nurses, both in the pre and post-covid eras. The time range is plausible because I can assure you that I will accomplish all my activities within this period (Yoong et al., 2023). In the course of this period, I shall gather data on all hospitals in Minnesota and request data from the administrative apparatus of the nurses working in the extended care departments. Next, within the next two months, I will sample and select Nurses. Thus, in the remaining months, I will discuss the conditions for the implementation and will develop the required KPI for the selected nurses. The potential factors that could affect the implementation plan could stem from the fact that the administration may not support it. 

Conclusion

Lastly, the use of the intervention calls for the coordination of stakeholders in the intervention process. Another factor that we cannot omit when developing an intervention plan is the integration of technologies and their proper application. The use of technology in the plan enables the implementation of the intervention to be effective (Reynolds et al., 2022). The policies and regulations are the other factors that have effects on the implementation process. Other potential challenges may include process barriers like barricading of roads as well as other natural incidences and lastly, motivation of nurses shall influence the time frame adopted in the plan.
