NURS FPX 6218 Assessment 2: A quick assessment of the needs of the Armatage community (in south Minneapolis) that looks at environmental and safety risks (like growing casing, roadwork, and limited bike and pedestrian lanes), access gaps (like many near health and internal health services), and social factors (like the affordability of casing, the vacancy of the original business, and access to food). Summarize major health problems (such as poor chronic-complaint operation, internal-health needs, and diet-related issues), offer specific solutions (such as hookups, telehealth, and original programming), and finish with a list of prioritized recommendations and criteria for coverage.

This administrative summary looks at the health needs of people in Jordan, Minnesota. We looked at different parts of this small Minnesota city through a virtual windshield check. We looked at things like the overall state of the city, public health needs, and the environment. This administrative summary will give a brief and organized look at the state of community health in Jordan and the health needs that need more attention for the health of the community.
The virtual windshield tool connected colorful parts of the City of Jordan, such as schools, libraries, health services, parks, churches as places of refuge, homes, shopping centers, and grocery stores. This showed that Jordan’s megacity was going to grow every day because it built abecedarian and high schools, which helped the community’s education a lot. Also, St. Francis Health Services is only a ten-minute drive away, and Fairview Hospital and Conventions are both fifteen minutes away. Together, they meet the health needs of all of Jordan’s people while also keeping them safe.
In the City of Jordan, there were also middle and high seminaries for growing kids, as well as a library that was open to all students and residents. The installations of fire departments and police departments also make sure that the people are well protected from any disaster that puts their safety and security in doubt. The megacity is made more beautiful by parks, lagoons, tourist spots, and shopping centers. As the city keeps growing, there is a constant need for more public transportation, healthcare, and education systems because megacity staff expect the population to keep growing. Because it was easier to get to caffs and dine-in areas, public health was at risk for a wide range of problems, including rotundity, diabetes, and heart disease.
The limitations of this check included a lack of funds to do a full windshield analysis, time constraints, and community members’ reluctance to talk openly because of safety concerns. So, more research is needed using additional data to find the most important parts of health needs and available installations that will help the community grow in a sustainable way by planning its structure, allocating resources fairly, and making it easier to offer more services.
Environmental factors, including population density, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, recreational areas, and infrastructure, influence public health and the overall well-being of the community. Our windshield analysis of Jordan showed that it was a small city with 7,000 native people and that its population was expected to grow by 150 people each year. Also, the City of Jordan had a strong school system that the people who lived there could use to learn more about health and fitness. They could do this every morning. The City of Jordan has a strong education system, which helps people in the community learn more about health. About 70% of ISD #717 graduates go on to college or university. This will improve the health of the whole community because the educated people in the community will stick to healthy habits and actions (Nutbeam & Lloyd, 2020).
Furthermore, equitable access to diverse healthcare organizations influences population health and enhances life expectancy (Hao et al., 2020). The fact that famous hospitals in Jordan are only ten to fifteen minutes away means that health needs are met quickly and properly, which is good for the health of the population. The potential opportunities involve improving Jordan’s infrastructure by utilizing 30 acres of available artificial land. This can be used to meet the community’s health needs for good access to health care and education (City of Jordan, Minnesota, 2015). Health-promoting environments, such as workplaces and gyms, serve as social determinants of health by encouraging healthy habits through regular physical activity within the Jordanian community (Wang et al., 2021).
Additionally, Jordan’s recreational areas, like the Minnesota River Valley, have 25 long trails for hiking and other physical activities that are good for the health of the people who live there. Additionally, adequate water and sanitation services foster an aseptic and secure environment, enhancing public health (Morante-García et al., 2022). Churches in the megacity of Jordan show how the community’s religious activities affect their spiritual and mental health. The health problem that people in Jordan are most worried about is the steady growth of the population, which is putting a lot of stress on the community’s limited health and education resources.
In Jordan, there isn’t enough good transportation for people to get around, which is a health problem in emergencies when quick care is needed. The underlying premise posits that social determinants of health significantly influence the overall health status of the community. The inquiry also encompasses the absence of understanding regarding the population’s socioeconomic status and social ethics influencing health behaviors.
The check results for the Jordan community show that the City of Jordan is a small but well-fed city in Minnesota. There are schools, hospitals, parks, grocery stores, and other places to go for fun that make it a good, stable community. The community still has a lot of health problems because the population keeps growing and there isn’t enough money for health and education. This makes it harder for the community to expand its services by improving infrastructure and growing its operations in a way that is good for the environment.

The assessment's goal is to find the City of Jordan, Minnesota's strengths, weaknesses, chances, and dangers. It does this by doing a virtual windshield survey and an environmental analysis to find out what the community needs in terms of health, what resources it has, and where it might be lacking.
The survey showed that Jordan has good schools, parks, churches, and healthcare services that are easy to get to. The city, on the other hand, has problems like not having enough doctors and schools for a growing population and not having enough public transportation for emergencies.
Education, healthcare access, recreational facilities, housing, safety services, and economic development were all important. Schools and parks were good for health, but a growing population and not enough transportation were bad for health.
The main health issue was that the population was growing steadily, which made it harder for the healthcare and educational systems that were already in place to keep up. There were also worries about public health because more restaurants and fewer ways to get around can lead to obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.
Some ideas are to build more schools and healthcare facilities, improve public transportation, use available land for community health projects, encourage partnerships between hospitals and government agencies, and teach people more about how to stay healthy to lower the risk of chronic diseases.
