This meeting started with an introduction before a discussion was conducted with a professor on my formulated PICOT question.

Discussion of the PICOT

Following review, the PICOT was defined as follows: P-adults receiving critical care. I- Showers with chlorhexidine every day. C-Standard hygiene procedures. O-A for the decrease in the prevalence of infections acquired in hospitals. T- More than six weeks.

Suggestions for the topic

The professor requested that I incorporate ten to fifteen peer-reviewed academic papers from the last five years into my work; they specifically stated that the work should not cite NIH or CDC sources. This is another aspect of assessment 2 in which she took her time and said that in it one is supposed to expound on the PICOT question. Further, she advised me to read the grading rubric properly so that I do not find it difficult when carrying out the assessments.

Discussion about practicum hours 

In particular, I recall that the professor drew the students’ attention to the need to finish the necessary activities and to submit approved practicum hours with each assessment. She said that 20 hours are spent on clinical research while for working with the preceptor 80 hours are provided for recording the hours.

Action item: Each assessment will include the hours associated with it.
