Introduction

The proposed study aims to examine the benefits and effect of cybertherapy compared to traditional face-to-face therapy. Previous studies in the area have looked at various technologies and modes of cybertherapy, including Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), Virtual and Augmented Reality, and persuasive and telepsychology computing (Botella, Garcia-Palacios, Banos, & Soledad, 2009). Botella et al. (2009) presented the effects, pros, and cons of cybertherapy, in light of its potential for customized treatment spaces. Despite a stated preference for cybertherapy on the part of subjects, ethical considerations have been raised, citing the importance of proper usage (Botella et al., 2009).

Research Questions

• Is cybertherapy or online therapy better than face-to-face counseling services?
• What are the advantages and disadvantages of cybertherapy, and is there a particular age group that is more impacted?
