Introduction

LGFG is committed to improving the lives of high-risk children by the provision of the required hygiene products and quality clothing. This initiative would aim at partnering with Job and Family Services in the identification of underprivileged youths in need and subsequently donating new clothing and the necessary hygiene items like deodorant, body wash, cologne/perfume, and shoes. The project intends to instill self-esteem and dignity among such young people in order for them to represent themselves well and improve their well-being. To implement these objectives, LGFG will raise money from nearby companies and construct a recreation center with showers and other activities. The project has been put at an estimated cost of $35,000, with an intended end date of January 1, 2022.

Self-esteem has been one of the most dominant forces driving individuals to succeed. In Knox County, a startling 15.6% are living below poverty levels, and of those, 22.1% are children. While there are food programs available, clothes and hygiene facilities are largely nonexistent (Barbuto & Towle, 2018). LGFG holds that each child deserves to have fun with their appearance because it opens them to further success throughout their lives. This project is intended to meet this fundamental need.

Business Objectives

With proper success of this business, underprivileged young people of Knox County will get access to cleanliness and appearing good. This change can play a huge role in their success and be a decisive factor in ending the poverty cycle they are exposed to. The project will also reduce the county’s long-term cost of public aid in the long run. In determining and implementing effective solutions, there will be a team brainstorming method employed. Focusing on the increasing rates of poverty in Knox County, the project targets youth since investment in them is important to minimize such figures in the future.

Project Requirements

To achieve success in the project, the following requirements should be fulfilled:

• Acquiring an Appropriate Location: The procurement of a flawless facility is key to operational success.
• We will need to enlist the support of dedicated donors, specifically local businesspeople and residents.
• Children in Need List: Working with county agencies to compile a list of youth in need.
• Non-Profit Tax Status: Achieving the tax status allowing operational viability.

Risk Management

There are risks involved with every project, and this one is not an exception. We have identified some of the risks.

Finding an Appropriate Site: The search for a suitable site that can accommodate the needs of the project may be difficult.

Ensuring Committed Donors: It may be difficult to obtain sustained support from donors.

• Tax-Exempt Status Delay: It may be some time before applying for non-profit status.

Contingency Plans

To counteract these risks, LGFG has contingency plans:

• Garaging: If it is not possible to obtain a permanent location in the short term, the project might be operated from a garage temporarily.
• From Personal Funds: In the absence of available donor money in the short term, personal resources can be used to start to make purchases of hygienic and apparel products that are needed.

Assumptions and Constraints

The success of the project relies on the following assumptions:

• Early receipt of a list of children needing assistance from county agencies.
• Frequent updates on the status of this list will be available.
• The anticipation that the tax-exempt status will be granted due to the community-based purpose of the project.

Limitations are the requirement of excellent donor support to ensure that the required needs of the project are being met.

Conclusion

LGFG’s endeavor in offering hygiene and clothing assistance to deprived teenagers in Knox County is in the right direction in empowering these teenagers and providing them with self-worth. The project benefits the community by reducing poverty and welfare costs. With synergy with local businesses, strategic planning, and consideration for sustainability, LGFG believes that it will create a positive impact that will be felt years ahead.
