MHA FPX 5017 Assessment 4 is a guide for healthcare professionals on how to show and explain the results of a multiple regression analysis. The paper talks about how to use statistical results to back up your opinions. It tells you how to use important regression statistics like Multiple R, R-squared (R²), and ANOVA p-value to find out if a model fits and is useful. The analysis demonstrates that the model is statistically significant and that the independent variables account for 11.31 of the friction in the dependent variable (cost). The most important thing is to give healthcare leaders a way to use data to find patterns, lower costs, and improve patient care.
What’s Included:
When talking to healthcare directors, it is very important to make a clear and useful donation of substantiation-based data collection. Healthcare researchers use a number of regression analyses to figure out how strong the connection is between a dependent variable and a number of predictor variables. Because healthcare is always changing, it’s important to understand and present data in order to connect trends, whether they are good or bad. Regression analysis is a useful statistical method for analyzing medical data because it lets you find and describe links between different factors. However, if decision-makers do not understand the results of data analysis, its usefulness is diminished. The initial step in data analysis is comprehending the issue, assumptions, and desired behavior. The analysis provides evidence to either corroborate or disprove the proposed hypothesis (Davenport, 2014).
The multiple regression equation is expressed as y = a + b1x1 + b2x2 + bkxk, with x1, x2, …, xk signifying the k independent variables (e.g., age, threat, satisfaction), and y (cost) denoting the dependent variable. Multiple regression analysis enables the precise control of numerous other factors concurrently influencing the dependent variable. In regression analysis, one or more independent variables are compared to a dependent variable, and a predicted value for the criterion is calculated based on a direct combination of predictors. Retrogression analysis has two main uses in wisdom vaccination: bracketing and explanation (Palmer & O’Connell, 2009).
Fig. 1 shows that a number of statistics are used to see how well a regression model fits the data.
The correlation measure, multiple R, tells you how strong the direct link is between the predictor variable and the response variable. A multiple R of 1 indicates a flawless direct relationship, whereas a multiple R of 0 denotes the absence of any direct relationship (Kraus et al., 2021).
The measure of determination, or r², shows how much friction a predictor variable explains, which is the same as the amount of friction in the response variable. An r² of 1 means that the predictions of retrogression fit the data perfectly. The R² value of 11.3 means that future labials can fully explain the response variable (Cruc et al., 2021; Ship et al., 2019).
Figure 2 shows the ANOVA table, which has the F statistic p-value at the bottom. This value is very important for figuring out how important the retrogression model is as a whole. If the p-value is lower than the significance position (usually .05), there is enough evidence to say that the regression model fits the data better than the model that doesn’t include predictor variables. Consequently, the predictor variables improve the model’s fit (Kraus et al., 2021; Shipe et al., 2019).
Figure 3 shows the measure estimates, standard crimes, p-values, and confidence intervals for each term in the regression model. For each term, there is a measure estimate, a standard error estimate, a t-statistic, a p-value, and a confidence interval (Shipe et al., 2019).
The multiple regression results show that the variables looked at account for 11.31 of the friction. This means that changing costs would cause an 11.31 increase. Healthcare professionals are always looking for ways to cut costs while still providing high-quality care for their patients. The model’s significant impacts, below 0.05, necessitate consideration in decision-making (Shipe et al., 2019).

When you give complicated statistical results to people who don’t know a lot about them, like healthcare directors, you need to be clear and focus on what they mean in real life. To present your findings well, do the following:
Multiple R tells you how strong the direct link is between the dependent variable and all of the independent variables combined. R-squared (R²) is a better measure because it shows you how much of the change in the dependent variable your model can explain. It's just the multiple R-squared.
The p-value is the most important part of determining if something is statistically significant. A low p-value (usually less than 0.05) means that the results probably didn't happen by chance. A model with a low p-value can help you form opinions.
If a model has a low R-squared value but a p-value that is statistically significant. This happens a lot. It means that the model is a better guess than a random guess (the relationship is statistically significant), but it doesn't explain a lot of the variability in the outgrowth. This means that there are other things we can't measure that have a bigger effect on the outgrowth.
Healthcare workers can use regression analysis to see how different things, like age, threat, and treatment protocols, affect important things like the cost of care or the rate of readmission. This lets them make smart, data-driven decisions that can improve the quality of care and the effectiveness of cases.
