Teaching Philosophy

As a life-long learner and now an educator, my educational philosophy is grounded in the belief that learning is an evolved and shared process that empowers one to realize their maximum potential. I do my best to develop a participatory and interactive learning environment in which students feel valued, supported, and encouraged to think critically and creatively. Central to my philosophy is the integration of adult learning models, which recognize the unique experiences, motivations, and learning preferences of adult learners, and value active engagement, applicability, and self-directed learning.

Adult Learning Framework

One model that has a strong influence on my philosophy is Knowles’ Andragogy Theory, which emphasizes the self-directed aspect of learning among adults and the importance of drawing on learners’ prior experience and motivation (Knowles, 1984). In designing my MBA module in supply chain management, I have applied andragogy principles in the introduction of opportunities for student participation in the learning process, reflection on practice, and the application of theory in the contexts of practice. As an example, the case study analysis in the assignment provides the students with an opportunity to draw on their experience as professionals and critically examine the issues of the supply chain.

Another pedagogy that my teaching is governed by is Kolb’s Experiential Learning Theory, which states learning as a circular process of active experimentation, concrete experience, reflective observation, and abstract conceptualization (Kolb, 1984). While developing lesson plans and assessments for supply chain management, I incorporated experiential learning elements like case studies, discussions, and real-time examples to engage students in active learning and gain in-depth knowledge of the subject.

One direct correlation to my teaching philosophy is one of continuous improvement and self-reflection. I know that effective teaching requires constant reflection, feedback, and professional development to refine teaching practices and adjust to evolving learner needs. While working on building the course, I actively searched scholarly literature and reflected on my own teaching practices to enhance the quality and efficacy of the materials and learning process.

Teaching Materials

The instruction materials developed for the MBA subject supply chain management integrate my pedagogy and principles of adult learning models in several ways.The text plan focuses on active connection, relevance, and prevention of information through interactive lecture, case study, and practical examples. The evaluation activities are also designed to promote critical thinking, reflection, and independent learning, which are in accordance with struggle and experienced teaching principles.

Inclusion of various businessmen and educational proofs in text materials, i.e., Christopher (2016), Ivanov and Dolgui (2020), and Serring & Muller (2008), confirmed my commitment to exposing students to a detailed and research-based understanding of articles, board chain control concepts, and trends. By including theoretical models and practical experiences of the industry doctors in the course, the purpose of equipping students with knowledge, skills, and perspectives was necessary to succeed in today’s fast-paced business environment.

Summary

In general, my own teaching philosophy focuses on teamwork, active involvement, and continuous improvement, directed by adult learning models such as andragogy and experienced educational theory. Supply Chain Management maintains such principles by focusing on the learning experience for learning material, application, and the student-Shaail learning experience created for MBA courses. Through continuous evaluation and updates, I take responsibility for ensuring the power and impact of teaching processes to facilitate the student’s authority for their educational goals along with the success of my career.
